Quality Sound Makes Brand Messaging More Impactful

Below is a sample of my re-recording mixing and sound design work, demonstrated through re-mixed versions of Relativity Space’s publicly released marketing videos. The examples highlight improvements in sonic detail and presentation, along with several original audio logo concepts. These materials are intended to offer a clear view of the quality and perspective I hope to contribute to Relativity’s future projects.

    Example #1

    Original Mix #1

This mix came in at -29.6 LKFS, which is 15 LKFS lower than YouTube's loudness specification of -14 LKFS.

    B. Frederick Mix #1

    • Mixed to Youtube's loudness specification of -14 LKFS.
    • Created a custom audio logo.
    • VO has been processed to broadcast TV standards.
    • Sound effects have been crafted and added throughout the spot, enhancing moments at key transitions, as well as creating sound effects to go with the rocket testing footage.

    Example #2

    Original Mix #2

This mix metered at -33.4 LKFS. Youtube's loudness specification is -14 LKFS.

    B. Frederick Mix #2

    • Mixed to Youtube's loudness specifications of -14 LKFS.
    • VO level is at the same level as the previous mixes. Consistency in level and clarity of the VO across all content is the goal.
    • New sound design has been created for the typing animation at the top of the spot.

    Example #3

    Original Mix #3

This mix came in at -27.4 LKFS. YouTube's loudness specifications are -14 LKFS.

    B. Frederick Mix #3

    • Mixed to -14.1 LKFS, per YouTube's loudness specifications.
    • Sound design created for the engine testing at 2:07

    Audio Logo Concepts

Below are a number of different concepts for the Relativity Space Audio Logo / Sonic Signature

    ID #1

Using musical notes drawn from the company name, these notes start from one root note and bend out to their unique pitch, symbolizing the unified effort of driving from one core goal in many specialized forms

    ID #2

Percussion forward concept utilizing a massive hit followed by musical notes drawn from the company name.

    ID #3

Similar to Sonic ID #1, however has more of an abrasive tone, inspired by the sound of the rocket engines and brass instruments.

    ID #4

The rhythm is based on Morse code, using the two letters R and S, creates a dot, dash, dot, dot, dot, dot rhythm if a dot is a 1/8th note and a dash is a 1/4 note. The music notes used are derived from the notes as they appear in the name of the company.
